Sarita Cannon is associate professor of English at San Francisco State University, where she teaches classes on 20th-century American literature.  Her scholarship has appeared in Interdisciplinary Humanities, The CEA Critic, Asian American Literatures: Discourses and Pedagogies, African Voices, and Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States.  Sarita’s essay “Resistance and Joy” appeared in the liner notes of Criterion Collection’s 2018 reissue of the 1961 film A Raisin in the Sun. This year, she will lead the literary book club at WordSpaceStudios, a local organization that nurtures writers through guided writing groups, creative writing workshops, and writing residencies.
